HIKING LOG 2005

HIKING LOG 2004

All hikes in Southern Arizona unless otherwise noted.

Jan. 8--I think I've finally come to terms with the fact that gas prices ain't going back down, so I'm just gonna have to pay to play!!--Planned to summit Gunsight Peak the northern most peak in the Santa Rita Mtns. I bushwacked from Hwy 83 and only made it to one ridge before Gunsight before I woosed out. From this ridge I had a view of Mt. Wrightston w/snow and the Rincons. Crossing numerous ridges I came across several small mines. From the top I could see a wash that I took all most of the way back to the car.
6 tough miles

July 31--Nope. I havenn't come to terms with gas prices, so it's taken me a full 7 months to hike again(besides my pants are getting tight around the waist) so...Planned to hike to an old mine out by Picture Rocks, took the Ringtail trail to the Picture Rocks Wash trail and then bushwacked to the mine. Forgot my camera.
4 easy miles
